Good construction bad for shower

I bought this as a cheap solution for my wife to shave her legs in the shower. Bad for this application as the finish quickly starts to come off. I have since bought her an unfinished teak one from smithandhawken.com that works great. It was the cheapest best looking real teak one I could find at the time. We moved this one to our front porch and it is working out ok there. I think it would wear best in the house in a dry area.More detail ...

I did purchase two of these chaise lounges from Amazon. One arrived damaged and I had no problems exchanging it for a new one. I had these lounges on my new paver patio from June through October. they were covered with those green plastic covers.



A few things observed:

After a few months the sliding tray failed to slide out.

One of the dowels that hold up the back of the chair had cracked and fell apart.

My patio was stained with the orange dye used to make these chairs appear to be teak.



I emailed Amazon and explained the situation. I have to commend Amazon for REFUNDING ME ENTIRELY for my purchase and for the SHIPPING too after having these chaise lounges for over 6 months. I received a refund for $239.98. Also they gave me a $20 credit for my trouble.



Point is the manufacturer is producing a terrible product and Amazon has had to deal with it.



In one of the emails Amazon wrote to me and implied that they were not going to continue selling this product. Obviously they have not done that.



So word to the wise do not buy these chairs. They look to be of high quality but are far from that. And I wish you luck in getting your refund too.More detail ...

teak patio set

I'm very happy with this set. It was delivered in excellent condition and was actually very easy to put together. The wood is beautiful and the furniture is well designed. I felt the wood was a little dry so I rubbed it down with teak oil which brought out the grain and warmed up the color while moisturizing the wood. It's sturdy and comfortable. Although I felt it was a fair value I would have liked to pay a little less. However I shopped around and this was a good deal for teak. The teak substitutes are heavy. Attractive teak table

We bought two of these tables and although one came with a broken teak restraining strap under the table that holds the folding leg when the table is collapsed (I managed to glue it) I would recommend them. They are attrtactive with good clear teak and fold nicely to store.More detail ...
